She began her career performing cover songs by artists such as Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan and an array of others on the Red/ Blue line Chicago train platform.

Since a child, she has always had a vast array of musical influences, however; she accredits the pivotal influences in her music to R&B and soul artists such as Fantasia, Missy Elliot, and Brandy just to name a few.

She draws inspiration from her own life experiences while using her music as a vehicle to express her perspectives and tell stories.
